What sizes do the PodRoof Kits come in?
PodRoof Kits are available in three standard widths: 20 feet, 30 feet, and 40 feet between the inside edges of the containers. Each kit spans 20 feet in length. For larger coverage, multiple kits can be connected end-to-end to create extended roof systems.
What do the PodRoof Kit measurements mean?
Width refers to the full span of the roof from one side to the other.
Length is the distance along the shipping containers and the roof’s ridge line.
Space indicates the open area between the inside edges of the two containers.
What is the maximum span of a PodRoof Kit?
The largest PodRoof Kit spans up to 56 feet across, allowing for a maximum open space of 40 feet between the inside edges of the shipping containers.
What are the roof slopes of the PodRoof Kits?
PodRoof Kit slopes vary by model and roof design:
GB361, GB46, GB561 – 2/12 pitch, 10° slope
GM201, GM30, GM401 – Upper section: 2/12 pitch, 10° slope; Lower section: 7/12 pitch, 30° slope
GB5630 – 7/12 pitch, 30° slope
These slope measurements affect water runoff, snow load handling, and overall roof aesthetics.
How thick are the PodRoof Kit panels?
All PodRoof Kits use durable 26-gauge steel roof panels. This thickness offers a strong balance of weather resistance, structural integrity, and long-term performance.
Can I connect multiple PodRoof Kits to create a longer roof?
Yes, PodRoof Kits are designed to be modular and can be connected end-to-end to extend your covered space. There are no gaps between kits when installed properly. For example, using two 20-foot-long kits with 40-foot shipping containers will create a continuous 40-foot roof span.
How do PodRoof Kits attach to shipping containers?
PodRoof Kits use a proprietary bracket system that securely locks into the corner pin holes of standard shipping containers. This connection method requires no welding, making installation fast, safe, and straightforward.
What are the wind and snow load ratings?
PodRoof Kits, Container Covers, and Awnings are engineered to meet specific wind and snow load requirements. Below are the ratings by model:
PodRoof Kits
GB361 – 115 MPH wind & 30 PSF snow load
GB36SP – 115 MPH wind & 62 PSF snow load
GB36HZ – 182 MPH wind & 0 PSF snow load

What equipment is recommended for constructing a PodRoof Kit?
To safely and efficiently install a PodRoof Kit, we recommend using lifting equipment such as a bucket lift or forklift, along with scaffolding and ladders. For detailed guidance, we can provide a complete tools and equipment checklist upon request.
How long does it take to build a PodRoof Kit?
Construction time depends on several factors, including crew size, number and type of kits, installer experience, weather conditions, site layout, and available equipment. On average, a single small PodRoof Kit can be assembled in one full workday.
Can PodRoof Kits be disassembled, relocated, and reassembled?
Yes, PodRoof Kits are specifically designed for modular flexibility. You can disassemble the roof, move it to a new location, and reassemble it without damaging components or requiring specialized tools. This makes them ideal for temporary setups, relocatable structures, and evolving site needs.
