What sizes do the kits come in?

Our standard models provide 20’, 30′ and 40’ space between the containers (inside edges) and are 20’ long. Multiple kits can be connected end-to-end to create longer spaces.

What do the measurements refer to?

The width is the total span. The length refers to the measurement along the containers and along the roof ridge line. The space refers to the area between the containers

How large of a span can the kits have?

56′ is the maximum span which provides 40’ maximum space between the containers.

What are the peak heights of your kits?

Peak Hegihts:

  • GB36 – 12′ 6”
  • GB56 – 14′ 7’
  • GB5630 – 24’
  • GM20 – 13’ 8 1/2″
  • GM40 – 17’ 10 1/2″
  • GM30 – 15′ 8″
  • GB46 – 13′ 10 1/2″
What are the slopes of your kits?

The GB36, GB46 and GB56 have a 2/12 pitch and 10 degree slope. The GM20, GM30 and GM40 have a 2/12 pitch and 10 degree slope on the upper section and 7/12, 30 degree on the lower section. The GB5630 has a 7/12 pitch and 30 degree slope.

How thick are the roof panels?
The roof panels are 26 gauge.
Can I use multiple kits in a row to create a longer space?

Yes. You may connect as many kits end-to-end as you like. There won’t be any gaps between the kits. For example: You will use two kits which are 20’ long each with 40’ containers.

How do the kits connect to the containers?

We use our proprietary bracket system to lock them into the container corner pin point holes. No welding is required.

What are the wind and snow load ratings?

The kits come with standard ratings per model. See our price list for details. Click on “Info” on our site menu to find it.

Are the parts weather resistant?

Yes. All parts are ready to be used outdoors and are weather resistant.

Are all necessary parts provided in the kits?

Yes. All parts needed to construct your kit and connect it to the containers will be included.

Are instructions provided?

Yes. Instruction manuals and diagrams are provided after an order is placed and paid for. Videos can be viewed on our site.

Do you offer optional walls for the ends?
We expect to introduce tarp end walls in the near future.
What parts are included with the gutter option?

Gutters and downspouts for each side, end caps, and all attachment parts needed.

What types of equipment could be used to construct Podroof® kits?

Lifting equipment (i.e., bucket lift, forklift), scaffolding, and ladders. We can provide a tools and equipment list.

How long does it take to construct a kit?

The time varies depending on the manpower, kit quantity, type of kits, experience, weather, install location and equipment. An average for a single, small kit is one work day.

Can your kits be dis-assembled, moved and re-assembled?

Yes. They are designed with this in mind.

Does Shield assemble/construct Podroof® kits?

We aren’t involved directly in the assembly of the Podroof​®​ kits. We can assist in finding a contractor who’s experienced with our products.

Can Podroof® help me get building approval/permitting?

We cannot acquire permits on your behalf. We can provide information to an engineer or building department on your behalf after an order is placed and paid for. Stamped engineering reports can be ordered for a fee and would be provided after your order is in process.

What is your warranty?

We offer a 20-year warranty.

What is your return policy?

We do not accept returns or refunds due to the custom nature of our products. We’ll replace incorrect parts and supply missing parts if notified promptly.

How are the kits packed and shipped?

The large, structure parts are packed in bundles and shipped by flatbed truck. The small parts are palletized and shipped by common carrier (FedEx, Freight, Roadrunner, etc.). We ship from multiple locations nationwide to provide the best service. 

How much are the freight charges?

Freight charges are determined at the time of quotation or order.

Will the freight company unload the shipment?

No. The drivers will not unload any orders. It is the customer’s responsibility to unload their shipments and provide any equipment needed to do so.

How do I place an order?

Orders can be placed on our website. Go to Browse Our Products on the menu and follow to the product of your choice. You can also download our PDF order form shown under “Info” on our site menu and email to us at info@shieldup.co.

How do I order a custom kit?

You first​ ​submit our online quote request form which is shown under “Info” on our site menu. We will respond with a quote which you can use to place an order using our PDF form.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all Major Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB), checks, Crypto (Bitcoin, Etherum), ACH transfers and outside financing (Ridge Commercial Capital). A waiting period will be required for checks before your order will be processed.

What is your lead-time?

It is normally 4-5 weeks from receipt of order and payment.
